Blue Screen Test - Blue Sub-Pixel & OLED Health Diagnostic

A deep Pure Blue (#0000FF) diagnostic to test the "Coolest" part of your display. Blue sub-pixels are the most energy-intensive and often the first to show signs of aging/dimming, especially in OLEDs. This tool is also critical for testing "Blue Light Filters" (Night Mode) and finding stuck Red/Green pixels which appear as bright yellow dots.

🔵 Blue Screen Testing

Blue screen testing completes the RGB testing trio and has some unique uses:

  • Identify stuck red/green subpixels (appear as yellow, red, or green dots)
  • Test your blue light filter effectiveness
  • Complete the RGB subpixel testing suite

🌙 Test Your Blue Light Filter

You can also use this test to check your blue light filter:

  • Enable Night Shift, Night Light, or f.lux
  • The blue should appear warmer/more orange with filter on
  • Compare filter intensity settings visually

How to Use Color Palette & Display Tester

Testing "Night Mode"

• Step 1: Turn this Blue screen on. • Step 2: Enable your OS "Night Light" or "f.lux". • Step 3: Observe. If the blue turns "Muddy Orange", your filter is working. If it just looks darker blue, your filter is weak.

OLED Health Check

Blue OLED materials degrade 2x-3x faster than Red/Green. On a used phone/TV, check if the blue screen looks "Dim" or has "burn-in shadows". This is the #1 killer of OLED panels.

Common Calculations & Examples

Example 1: Why is Blue hard to focus on?

Problem: Text on a blue background looks blurry.

Steps:

  1. Open Blue Screen Test.
  2. Look at the edges.
  3. This is "Chromatic Aberration" in your own eyes. Blue light bends more than Red light, so it focuses slightly in front of your retina.
Result: Understanding eye strain.

Explanation: This effect (Myopic Shift) is why reading blue text on black causes headaches. Use this test to adjust your monitor distance until focus improves.
