Free Local Image Editor - Crop, Overlay & Export in Browser
Edit images privately in your browser. Crop, copy and paste regions, add overlays, resize layers, and export PNG, JPEG, WebP, or TIFF at full resolution.
Drag and drop an image, or click to browse
JPEG, PNG, WebP, single-page TIFF ยท max 20 MB ยท max 32,768 px per side
Edit images entirely in your browser with this free local image editor. Upload a JPEG, PNG, WebP, or single-page TIFF, then crop the canvas, copy and paste image regions, add overlay images, move and resize layers, and export the finished composition at full pixel resolution. Nothing is uploaded to a server โ all decoding, compositing, and export happen on your device. PNG is the lossless default; JPEG and WebP are re-encoded; TIFF export supports practical 8-bit RGBA output without preserving original file metadata.
How to Use Local Image Editor
Upload your base image
Drag and drop or browse for a JPEG, PNG, WebP, or single-page TIFF up to 20 MB. The image becomes the document background and sets the export pixel dimensions.
Select, move, and resize layers
Use Select mode to tap a layer, drag it on the canvas, or resize it with transform handles. Lock aspect ratio in layer settings when you want proportional scaling.
Crop the document
Switch to Crop mode, adjust the crop box, and click Apply crop. The document size updates to the cropped area while layer positions shift accordingly.
Copy and paste regions
In Region mode, position the selection box, click Copy region, then Paste as layer to insert the copied pixels as a new movable overlay. System clipboard copy works in secure browsers when permission is granted.
Add overlay images
Click Add image to place another PNG, JPEG, WebP, or TIFF on top of the current document. Reorder, hide, duplicate, or delete overlay layers from the layer panel.
Detect and edit text already in the image
In Text mode, click Detect text in image to run local OCR at full resolution. Detected lines become editable text layers with matched size and color, and the closest matching system font. Update the wording, then export without re-compressing until download.
Add or replace text labels
Use Text mode to click the canvas and place editable text layers. Update wording, font, size, color, alignment, and position to cover or replace text in the image, then export.
Paint and erase on layers
Switch to Edit mode, choose Brush or Eraser, pick a color and brush size, then paint directly on the selected layer. Undo and redo include brush strokes.
Export at full resolution
Open Export, choose PNG, JPEG, WebP, or TIFF, then download. The output matches the current document width and height in pixels unless you cropped the canvas.

Common Calculations & Examples
Example 1: Combine two product photos
Problem: You want one base photo with a logo placed on top before downloading.
Steps:
- Upload the product photo as the base image.
- Click Add image and choose your logo file.
- Resize and position the logo layer, then export as PNG.

Problem: You need to duplicate a section of the image and move it elsewhere.
Steps:
- Open Region mode and position the selection.
- Click Copy region, then Paste as layer.
