Hangman
Guess A–Z online: built-in words or custom lists (paste/upload .txt), adjustable wrong guesses, saves in-browser. Mobile or desktop; no download.
Your word list
Paste words below or upload a plain .txt file (one word per line). Submit saves the list in this browser and deals a new word. Clear the box and submit to use the built-in pool again.
Applies on New word / New game. The drawing fills in evenly across your chosen limit.

Hangman online free: guess letters (A–Z) to reveal a hidden word before you run out of wrong guesses—classic guess-the-word gameplay in your browser. Choose the built-in vocabulary or supply your own words using the **Your word list** box: paste text, optionally **Upload a .txt file**, then **Submit list** to save your pool in this browser and start a fresh round. Adjust **Allowed wrong guesses** (from a short “hard mode” up to a generous limit); the stick figure fills in evenly across whatever limit you set for the next rounds. Everything runs client-side—lists are not uploaded to UtilityNova servers for Hangman itself. Works on phones and desktops with large tap-friendly keys.
How to Use Hangman
Play Hangman with built-in words
Leave **Your word list** empty (or clear it and submit) and use **New word** or **New game** to draw from the default English pool. Tap letters on the keyboard; wrong guesses advance the drawing. The counter shows wrong guesses versus your chosen limit.
Submit your own word list
Paste one word per line (letters A–Z) into **Your word list**, or tap **Upload .txt file** to load a plain-text file. Press **Submit list** to validate, save the list in this browser, and immediately deal a new secret from your pool—ideal for spelling lists, ESL vocabulary, or themed nights.
Set allowed wrong guesses
Use the **Allowed wrong guesses** slider before starting rounds (default feels like classic six). The scaffold stages appear in proportion to your limit so harder and easier rounds still show clear progress.
Privacy: lists stay on your device
Custom Hangman words stay in your browser (local storage when you submit); nothing is shipped to our servers just to store your vocabulary list.
