Number Duel

Free guess-the-number game: higher-or-lower hints, 2 players or vs AI in browser—no download. Range starts 1–100.

Versus computer · Range 1-100

Private

Your secret number

Allowed range 1 to 100. The computer picks its own secret; it only receives the same higher-or-lower hints as you after each guess.

Number Duel is a free number guessing game online: pick a secret in your range (default 1–100), then hunt the other player’s number using only higher-or-lower clues—like guess my number meets a quick duel. Play hot-seat with a friend on one phone or laptop, or play Number Duel versus computer for a fair opponent that only learns from the same hints you see. Nothing to install; it runs in any modern browser with no signup. Change mode or range anytime in Settings. Quick rounds, simple rules: first exact guess wins.

How to Use Number Duel

Start fast (vs computer · 1–100)

The game opens ready to play the computer with range 1–100. Tap Settings only if you want two players or a different min/max. Choose your secret number (masked), lock it in, then take turns guessing. Each wrong guess earns a hint: Higher, Lower, or Correct.

Change setup later (Settings)

Use Settings anytime to switch between two-player same-device mode and versus computer, or to change the allowed range. Applying new settings clears the round and sends you back to secret entry—fair so range and targets always match.

How guessing and turns work

Players alternate guesses toward the opponent’s hidden number—never their own. Your guess history stays in your column with Higher, Lower, or Correct on each row. Duplicate guesses are blocked. In versus-computer mode, after your wrong guess the computer guesses your number until someone wins.

The AI never reads your chosen number ahead of time; it only reacts to Higher/Lower outcomes on its own guesses, same information you would give a human.

Flexible range

Tune difficulty by min and max (for example 1–50 for a quick duel or 1–1000 for a longer hunt). Defaults favor short online sessions.

Common Calculations & Examples

Example 1: Quick guess-the-number duel (1–100)

Problem: You want a guess my number challenge that fits in a five-minute break.

Steps:

  1. Use the default versus-computer setup (range already 1–100). Enter your secret and start.
  2. Guess toward the computer’s number; read Higher or Lower after each try.
  3. Race the computer—it is trying to guess your number too.
Result: Whoever lands the opponent’s secret first wins; both numbers appear so you can verify.

Explanation: Small ranges finish faster and suit mobile play when you search for quick online guessing games.

Example 2: Two-player hot seat on one phone

Problem: Two people share one phone and both want fair guess-my-number privacy.

Steps:

  1. Open Settings → choose Two players → set Min and Max → Apply.
  2. Enter Player 1’s secret while Player 2 looks away, then swap for Player 2.
  3. Alternate guesses until Higher/Lower narrows someone in for the win.
Result: Secrets stay unknown until reveal so the higher-or-lower contest stays honest.

Explanation: Same-device play covers classrooms, couples, or friends wanting a tabletop-style number game online.

Example 3: Wide-range number hunt

Problem: You want harder mental maths with hundreds or thousands of possibilities.

Steps:

  1. Open Settings and raise Max (for example 500 or 1000), optionally stay versus computer.
  2. Start near the midpoint of your range—binary-search thinking pays off.
Result: Each Higher or Lower trims about half of the viable numbers when you guess cleverly.

Explanation: Large spreads mirror classic “guess a number between 1 and N” riddles popular in puzzles and STEM demos.
